Sofía Zuberbühler-Yafar, RLA, ENV SP is Assistant Commissioner in New York City Department of Design and Construction’s Infrastructure Division. She manages design contracts and ensures the on-time delivery of NYC’s Department Environmental Protection’s various multi-million-dollar city-wide green infrastructure contracts. As well as integrating sustainable design measures and goals within the agency standards and contracts that respond to current on-going discussions regarding climate change and adaptability.
Sofia is a certified Envision Trainer and is preparing fellow colleagues to become ENV SPs. Sofia and her team will help us lead those conversations as we are becoming aware that all projects need to be viewed through the lenses of sustainability.
Mrs. Zuberbuhler-Yafar is a licensed Landscape Architect with a graduate degree in Urban Design and over 23 years of varied experience including urban planning and design with the NYC Department of City Planning and landscape architecture design in the private realm. She resides in New York City with her family and enjoys traveling.
