ISI Supports Sustainable Infrastructure Collaboration at Chile Green Building Week

The Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI) was proud to attend the recent Chile Green Building Week, hosted April 13–17 in Santiago, Chile, by the Chile Green Building Council (Chile GBC). Chile Green Building Week is the leading sustainable construction event in Chile, and one of the most important in Latin America. Now in its ninth year, the event brought together stakeholders from public, private, and academic sectors to address sustainability challenges related to materials, buildings, infrastructure, and urban planning – with a special focus on financing and investment, corporate strategies, and the regulatory ecosystem. Sessions were structured around Chile GBC’s seven sustainability principles: energy & carbon, circular economy, adaptation & resilience, water resources, biodiversity & nature, health & wellbeing, and equity & access.

ISI was represented at the event by President and CEO, Anthony Kane, and Envision Review Board member, Christina Contreras. Throughout the week, they participated in panel discussions on challenges and opportunities in sustainable infrastructure, presented on the value and application of the Envision Sustainable Infrastructure Framework, and hosted an ENV SP training workshop for 25 people to help grow the community of Envision-credentialed professionals in Chile. Being there provided a valuable opportunity to connect directly with industry leaders, practitioners, and partners from across Latin America.

This participation builds on ISI’s partnership with Chile GBC, which reflects a shared commitment to expand the use of Envision to support more sustainable, resilient, and equitable infrastructure throughout the country. Together, we are helping to grow a regional ecosystem of professionals, projects, and policies aligned around sustainability outcomes.

Chile continues to demonstrate strong momentum for Envision adoption and expertise, and we were thrilled to be a part of Chile Green Building Week 2026 and to engage in dialogue around critical issues like regulatory gaps, financial and tax incentives, and strategies for scaling sustainable solutions. We look forward to continuing this collaboration to support the growth of Envision and sustainable infrastructure practices throughout Chile and the broader Latin American region.
