Cristina Contreras Casado, ENV SP, Envision Trainer and Verifier, is the Founder and CEO of Sinfranova LLC, a sustainable infrastructure consulting firm, and an Instructor at Harvard University. With nearly two decades of experience spanning the academic and private sectors, Cristina is a recognized expert in sustainable infrastructure, bridging research and practical application. At Harvard University, Cristina served as a Research Associate for the Zofnass Program for Sustainable Infrastructure, the research initiative responsible for developing the Envision framework. Throughout her career, she has played a key role in implementing tools and guidelines to measure sustainability in infrastructure projects worldwide. Cristina collaborates as an independent expert consultant with Multilateral Development Banks such as the World Bank, global nonprofits like WWF, and international organizations, including the United Nations. Over the past decade, she has championed the dissemination of Envision across Spanish-speaking countries, leading trainings for nearly 400 participants in Mexico, Peru, Guatemala, Colombia, Chile, and Spain.
Ms. Contreras is a member of several working groups on global sustainability, including The Committee of Sustainability at the American Association of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the “United Nations Environment Programme’s Expert Working Group on Integrated Approaches to Sustainable Infrastructure”, and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), “Sustainable Infrastructure Standards Committee — Leadership Writing Group.”
Cristina’s areas of interest include sustainable development, tools and methodologies to quantify global sustainability, innovation and technology, and climate change adaptation and mitigation.
