Dr. Chi Dara is an Assistant Professor of Interior Design at Mount Royal University in Calgary, Canada. She is a design educator, researcher, and sustainable architect. She holds a doctorate in Environmental Design from the University of Calgary, and published most of her research work in reputable peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. Prior to her position at MRU, she served as a full-time instructor at Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Ontario and possesses nearly a decade of teaching experience, including roles as a sessional instructor and researcher at the University of Calgary, School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape. She also possesses industry experience, having worked as a Senior Sustainability Specialist at WSP and Entuitive. Chi’s interests in teaching and scholarship include sustainable design practices, human-centered design, and a whole life cycle approach to design decisions. Her current research focuses on developing a framework for carbon-neutral products and building materials from a life cycle perspective.
