Dr. Ramanitharan (Ramani) Kandiah, PH.D., P.E., BCEE, BC.WRE, PH, ENV SP, F.ASCE, F.EWRI is a Professor of Environmental Engineering and currently holds the position of Chair in the Department of Engineering and Technology and the Director for Graduate Programs at Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. Additionally, he is the Director of the C. J. Mc Lin International Center for Water Resources Management. Dr. Kandiah earned his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, a Master’s degree in Water Resources and Environmental Engineering, an MS in Environmental Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Tulane University in New Orleans. His postdoctoral research was conducted at Northeastern University in Boston, where he also obtained a graduate certificate in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing.
Dr. Kandiah holds the designation of Registered Professional Civil Engineer (P.E.) in Ohio and is a Certified Professional Hydrologist (PH). Additionally, he is a Board Certified Environmental Engineer (BCEE), a Board Certified Water Resources Engineer (BC.WRE), and an Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP). He serves as a Program Evaluator for the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology – Engineering Accreditation Commission (ABET (EAC)) for Civil and Environmental Engineering programs.
Dr. Kandiah is actively engaged with various professional engineering societies, including the American Society of Civil Engineers-Environmental and Water Resources Institute (ASCE-EWRI), the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors (AEESP), the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES), the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE), and the World Environment Federation (WEF).
