Dr. Satish Bastola has a degree in civil engineering and a doctorate in water resource management, and he currently serves as faculty and graduate coordinator for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of New Orleans in Louisiana.
Dr. Bastola has taught several courses on environmental sustainability to civil engineering students on topics like sustainability principles, drone application, nature hazard assessment modeling, ocean and coastal engineering, and use of LEED and Envision frameworks. Dr. Bastola focuses on applications of geospatial technologies – including remote sensing, GIS, and integrated modeling tools – to understand the issues driven by environmental change and their potential sustainable solutions (in coastal and terrestrial systems).
