Kevin Bartoy is currently the Chief Sustainability Officer at Washington State Ferries where he leads the Office of Sustainability and Environmental Services. He is the recipient of the 2021 Washington State Governor’s Award for Leadership in Management. He has worked for WSDOT since 2009 and is currently the environmental stewardship & sustainability program manager for Washington State Ferries. Kevin holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Oregon, an master’s degree in anthropology with an emphasis in historical archaeology from the College of William and Mary in Virginia, and a PhC in anthropology from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a seventh-generation Pacific Northwesterner and a fifth-generation Tacoman.
